A Bit About Me
My name is Joanna, I grew up in North Devon and in 2017 moved to Plymouth. I grew up fully immersed in arts, theatre and heritage and always had my nose in a book. I've turned my hand to many an art form, and have so many that I enjoy - I really do deserve the title "Jack of all trades".

In 2012, I left college having studied an Extended Diploma in Art and Design, and an NCFE in Creative Craft from Petroc College in Barnstaple.
However I had not properly found my medium and had not heard of Immersive as a field, so I pursued a career in Sales/Retail
During the pandemic I decided to take the time to learn new skills and hopefully move into an industry closer to my creative interests.

In December 2021, I began learning about cryptocurrencies, smart contracts and web3, as well as game design and VFX. This led me to discover (rediscover) the concept of a metaverse, and how it can play into the future of work and social interactions.

In January 2022, I began conceptualising a metaverse home for history, theatre and art.

Around April 2022, I began teaching myself Unreal Engine 5, after seeing hyper-realistic environments as well as impressive capabilities and ease of use. As someone who had previously not approached 3D design or game development, I have been able to learn a huge variety of processes in the engine and have truly seen its potential in this new digital age. The concept art for Avalonia was all built by me within UE5.
Through researching the companies first project, Avalonia, I have discovered an absolute treasure trove of hardware and software that can streamline workloads that would normally take a huge amount of time and budget, as well as a huge amount of data.
In October of 2022, I was introduced to the full dome in Market Hall, Devonport. As the first of its kind in Europe, I was inspired with the wide range of potentials for a dome or planetarium to show immersive, 360 film.
I am overwhelmingly excited to launch Souls Club Studios and bring some colour and magic with me!
