Solidarity

I am not a sports fan, I've never really understood why people become so rampant for it.
But I can't deny there is something wholly unique about hearing the sheer and unabashed joy erupt from these fans when there team score.
England has just equalised with Spain, this is a monumental moment for England fans, so I'm lead to believe.
Pubs, halls, community centres, almost every house in the country is sharing an energy, sharing a moment in solidarity with one another, in unity, and community.
They will throw each other into the air and hug a total stranger, grown men will shed tears and release pent up emotions kept away from goodness knows when.
Joy is a rarity in our economy. Happiness, sure, if you try you can find such things with ease. But, joy, I find that a much rarer emotion to cultivate.
Cultivate joy.
I like how that sounds.
That's not to say such emotions are joy alone, if England lose, this unity will shatter faster than a dropped glass. It won't be pretty.
But for now, I am exalting in the shared joy erupting the nation,
Sending passionate spirals of hope, happiness, joy and comradery.
It's (probably not) coming home.
But let's not forget these moments.
